Afternoon Getaway

jvr island in the sky resort

Hello guys! So how are ya'll? Did you go to the beach? Or are you in the midst of making your itinerary for your vacation? Well, as for me, I always wanted to go but I hate the feeling of being burned alive lol! I just can't stand the heat, because I always get cranky and easily annoyed. I'm a little jelly of my friends who got their summer beach fix, they seem to have so much fun under the blazing sun. Actually, Henry and I have been planning to go this month, but I don't know if we'll push through, because I'm still trying to shed some pounds to fit into that bikini I bought haha!

Anyway, last February, Henry and I together with my sister, drove to TCH (Transcentral Highway) to chill. It was actually unplanned; we were just hanging out in our living room watching TV when I asked them if they wanted to chill somewhere else. Which they happily agreed to!

We didn't have any specific place in mind on where to chill, by the time we're near at the JVR Island in the Sky Resort, I decided that we should just pull over because first, they've never been there, and second, the last time I was there was in 2016. We paid 65 pesos each for the entrance fee and went inside the resort. Even though we're there to chill, we actually tire ourselves out after tons of photo ops. The place is still beautiful just like how I remember it. I was just pretty bummed because I forgot to bring my dslr camera. And even though my phone has a decent photo quality, I just don't have the raw copies anymore. But hey, it's the memories that counts!

After our quick stint at JVR, we decided to grab a bite at Adventure Cafe and actually chill there. We had a lot of fun together because we love playing bato-bato pick and the loser would get a flick on the forehead. And man, it does hurt!

We ordered 3 mango shake, a carrot cake, clubhouse sandwich, and grilled chicken sandwich. Man, we're full after that. Around 5 pm, we went home, and Henry went back to the City. You know, I love afternoons where I could chill, eat good food, and have a good time. I know I have my moments when I don't even wanna go outside or talk to people— yes I can even go on a week without uttering a sentence but just hmm whenever I'm being asked. lol!

So what about you, what's your ideal afternoon?

  5. Each time I see photographs from cafe I am dying inside as I'm on a diet. I was supposed to get my bikini body already and I'm still lacking 20 pounds ;) On a serious note though I hate heat as well, mostly because I can't stand getting all sweaty.

Hello, well I have to say that I live very close to the beach and I never go because the sea is not something that I like, in fact it gives me too scary ahahahaha.
The place and the food are really delicious, but never in life would I go through that bridge just to see it gives me a lot of terror, anyway I'm glad you've had a good time.
